“Teddy” 2011
The idea for Teddy came simply enough from concepts I was creating for a mural in Pacha NYC. The legendary nightclub though turned out to be very conservative and though the fetish bear was too much for their image, I always felt that there was something very hysterical about the combining of teddy bears in human situations and thus began the misfit series. Although I painted Teddy in 2011 I cad done the drawing sometime around 2007. I had so many ideas and drawings that I had been carrying around, some for decades and that was a main reason to begin “An Unusual Journey” painting marathon. To realize the piles of ideas, to bring them to life, many worked, some didn’t but they all exist now!
