Cyprus!

Island? Country? Greek? Turkish? Its hard to say. Spending time anywhere, including the last really occupied land on Earth, all depends on the people you meet and the experiences you encountered and although Cyprus has its share of issues, the people I met made this journey a professionally successful and personally an even better experience.

Traveling sucks, and its worse today more than ever. Airlines are more crowded than ever while offering the customer, (that’s me) less and less. Less space, less food, less courtesies and still whining that they are the victims. Hotels charge a whole LOT of money for making my bed and keeping my stuff relatively safe and offering me the smallest imaginable bars of soap I have ever seen!

Aside from traveling, arriving is amazing! I love arriving to a place I have gotten to know but the best is arriving someplace new, someplace where the adventure is just beginning and the terrain is new, the food is new and the people that will forge new relationships with is exciting!

This occasion was to paint a large mural on the rooftop bar for the freshly built Hard Rock Café in Nicosia, kind of the heart city of Cyprus. The mural is solely based on the Led Zeppelin classic “Stairway to Heaven” The best rock and Roll song ever! (My opinion). The song is loaded with symbolism and the images flowed easily, actually there are several more drawings that I couldn’t even fit into the mural. When completed it immediately became one of my most favorite murals to date!
