Wild Style Lesson #1

Graffiti artists come packed with styles. The craziest, most complex of them all is the Wild Style. In a wild style the object is to take the letters of a name or word and outrageously exaggerate, decorate and accentuate them beyond recognition, so much exaggerating of the original that it becomes an abstraction. To the average viewer it is abstract but to the graffiti aficionado eye, it’s obviously apparent. This is one of the most fun traits of a “wild style” piece. Like a Liberace piano, blinged out and over-bedazzled, it’s still a piano! Like the word EVL in this piece, it’s there, even if you can’t see it! Fortunately, I have included a cheat sheet to assist you along.
